I'm looking at buying the Trickflow 215 heads. I have seen them come assembled or bare? Are there any other options (different springs, pushrod lengths,milling,etc...) or are they out of the box? I really appreciate any and all help as I'd like to jump on these soon. I'm getting antsy.
Thanks!!!!
Jason
I just switched to Trickflow 215's. You can get them milled (and I would suggest it). Due to the change in valve angle you can mill these heads to 61cc and still retain stock piston to valve clearance. This will yield a compression ratio around 11.2:1. You can go down to 59cc (11.4:1) and still run on 92 octane, but then you have to worry about flycutting your pistons with larger cams. I went with a 61cc chamber in case I decide to go with an even bigger cam in the future.
Also because of the revised valve angle you must run roller rockers. I would strongly suggest the Harlan Sharp 1.7's. I was running the Yella Terra 1.7 original run rockers and the resultant geometry led to problems with the combo. The revised Yella Terra's may work, but at this point I would go with the Harlands.
I would measure the pushrods to be sure, but in my case I ended up with 7.5" pushrods. You can order them through Summit.
You might want to give ECS a call. They are a TFS dealer. They can answer any question that you'd have and they have a car (maybe even a couple, but one that I know of for sure) that have the TFS heads and one of their cams that made over 500 RWHP! That's KILLER power from a stock short block with heads and a cam!

I wish here in California I could go with a cam that big! Did they mill you heads, and if so, to what CC?
It wasn't my car, but I think that it was someone that works for them. They are Truly Masters at their job. You should give them a call because I don't think the cam sounded that big. There was a video clip of it around, but I can't seem to find it.
