I bough a 98 with 16,000 miles on it and the parking brake needs either new shoes or a adjustment but the damm rotors are rusted and stuck to the hub and won't come off. I used deep creep and rubber mallet and beat on them for about and hour then gave up on it. Maybe I need a harder mallet?? Any ideas anyone? I have giant gear puller but I'm afraid of bending or breaking the rotor.

I've read on the forum that some people put the wheels on with the lug nuts loose. They drive the car a few feet and let the wobbly wheels pop off the rotors. Sounds a little iffy to me, but that's what I've read.
There is likely some corrosion present or the pads have worn into the inside of the rotor, crating alip that is difficult to get past.
PB blaster on the area between the studs and the rotors, ensure the parking brake is off. ( and alos the factory installed star locking washers)
Get a large ubber mallet and hit inside of back of rotor
outside of front, incied of bottom, outsdie of top etc... alternating around the rotor.
It will eventually free up.
Find a big empty parking lot and while backing up keep pulling up on the parking brake lever. Each time you pull it up the brake should self adjust. Should is the catch....if not you need to get the rotors off & adjust the star adjuster. The pads will still be fine.
Often there are 2 threaded holes in the flange area of the rotors ( I don't know if this is the case on the C5 though )
You can put 2 bolts into these threads holes and push the rotor off.

Also make sure the retainer clip is removed. Then get a BIG dead blow hammer!
