90* Fitting on Air Box --does that get attached anywhere

Default 90* Fitting on Air Box --does that get attached anywhere
I have a 98 vert. The nose was misssing. I am putting it back together but I can not figure out if the 90* fitting comming out of the d/s of the air box gets attached to anything. Maybe to the air pump?

i got rid of all that crap, put blocks on the headers
