Default Texan Speed Torquer V.2

Has anybody used this cam? If so, what are your thoughts on it. Here's what I've got and what I want to do. I've got LG LT pros without cats, Billy Boat mufflers, CNC ported LS6 heads that flow 296@
.600 lift with .600 springs, a Vararam intake. This goes on a 2003 6 speed coupe so I have the Z06 intake and MAF. I will get a full dyno tune when I get all this stuff installed. I want the nasty idle but not at the expense of a bucking bronch at cruising speed, (1500-1600 rpm). 99% of my time is cruising but I want all the power I can get without making the car not fun to drive around town.

Tell me what your thougths are about this cam or I'm open to other suggestions.

Thanks,
Johnie

I have the TSP V2 cam with 2.5stg ls6 heads. It surges when on 1st gear, you have to hold the clutch to ride it. If I had to do over again, I would go with one size smaller like 228.

Thanks for the input. That's exactly what I was afraid of. I want to go BIG but not at the expense of taking all the pleasure out of a casual ride.

I have a Crane 228/232, which is one size smaller, and it cruises at 65-70 in 6th just fine. I have 3.42s and a different 6th gear than a M6, so results may vary.

Your mods look simular to what I'm going to do. Have you dynoed your baby yet? If so what were your numbers? Have you been to the strip?

If you have bucking and surging, it's not your cam. It's your tune !

I have a 228R in my car now and it bucked like a bronco. With that right tune in the car, it crawls pretty good at 8-9 MPH.

Take your car to a qualified tuner that has a dyno that will hold your car at 15-1800 RPMs, and if he's good, he'll fix the bucking.

If you have an MN6/12 transmission, the car will buck in every gear in the low RPMs. You'll just feel it a little less in 5th and 6th gear. It's not the gear, but the RPM range.

I have the TQR 2 in the sheft in my garage, but im not sure I need it anymore.

I changed the MAF back to the screened one, and I pulled a little more out of the cells in the lower areas. I was crawling at 10 MPH with zero throttle last week, and it perfect. The car is 100% better to drive now then it used to be.

Much better power all over the RPM range.

BUT, I still have that TV2 sitting on my shelf with the gasket kit
