Just trying to get some opinions on these runflats. Also, if anyone has gottem them installed recently how much did it set you back with total out the door? Got some quotes in the range of $1000 - $1250 installed so far which is far cheaper than the Goodyears.
I don't know about the extended mobility mx's but the base mx's are great. I run street tire SS class and seem to do well against similar setups. I would avoid the run flats if you tend to favor peace of mind over performance. Try carrying a 12V compressor and can of green goo in the back.
I had them on for about a few months. They seemed good at first but started to get LOUDER and LOUDER every mile. Must have been out-of-round or something. I mean really loud, singing worse than bald Goodyears. They also showed signs of wear pretty quickly. Replaced them with Michelin pilot sport A/S runflats. These are the most amazing tires I ever owned.
I have to say one thing about the Kumhos. Their warrantee department covered them 100%. Down to the penny. I dealt with Discount tire - they ordered them and installed them for me. When I had the issues with them, they dealt with Kumho directly and every cent was applied to a new set of Michelins.
I've had the Kuhmo run flats on for about a year now. Much better than the Goodyear non run flats I had on before...Got mine from Tirerack..less than $1K installed ..thru one of their approved installers..
I'm mostly a highway cruiser and I've had my Kumho ASX non-runflat's on for 2.5 yrs, and after 25,000 miles I still have at least half the tread left. They are starting to get alittle more noisy as the tread wears off, but that's normal for any tire with age and miles on them. But, for $663 I'd buy another set in a heartbeat.
