Driving a black vette in 100 degree weather with no A/C and 2 hours of traffic is enough to make anyone annoyed. It seems my blower motor takes a crap now and again. It will start making a horrible loud pitch noise which causes you to turn the fan control off. Sometimes you can turn it off and then kick it back, and it will keep the A/C blowing for a short period. Seems to be effected by bumps or vibrations to the car. Is this a common problem with vettes? Is it a PITA to swap out the blower motor? Thanks in advance for the comments.

Not sure how common it is, but There was another thread about this 2 days ago or so. Just with that I myself would think it is somewhat of a common problem.
The blower motor is under the dash on the passenger side underneath the footwell. You will see the bottom of it once the BCM or fuse panel cover is removed. Its not that difficult, its just a tight fit to get it out, you have to turn and manuever it.
Blower motor was dead on my 99 when I bought it last August and dealer had to fix it before delivery. The car only had 22K on it. I've always wondered 'why' on such a low mileage car.
I tore it apart today and actually got the blower motor running again. Due to condensation, the blower motor had quite a bit of rust on the windings. I took some oil and lubricated the motor and it seemed to spin freely. Put it in the car and about 6 hrs of blowing later, seems to work fine. Thanks for the replys.

EXACTLY, did this on my '99 almost 2 years ago, running the a/c 2 hours everyday now down in FL
