Default Loose rearview mirror

I have a 2002 vert. The rerarview mirror is loose on its mount. If I pull it up it will easily come off its mount. When I look at it, I can see little tabs. Should I try to bend those to tighten the mirror? If so , which way? Any other cures for this? Thanks!

I don't know about the tabs but on my wife's car (Ford) I put JB weld on the mount and pushed it on and let it sit overnight. That was 3 years ago and it's still tight.

Be very careful playing with the mirror if you have the Electronic mirror. The base mirror has a Torx Head screw that can tightens the mirror to the mounting bud on the windshield. The other mirror has spring clips and requires some force to get it onto the bud and a fair amount of force to get it off. GM instructions for taking it off say to push upward on the mirror and twist until a pop is heard. Problem is they don't say anything about the pop being the sound of the windshield cracking.
