I'd like to replace the in-dash tape player in my 99 with an in-dash CD player. I'm not interested in fooling with the CD changer and wiring for the back. I assume GM makes an in-dash single CD player for the Vette. I'd like to just go up to the Chevy dealer and get one and put it in myself. I assume I have to get the CD player specifically for the Vette right? Also, can someone post the procedure for popping the stereo dash panel off? I'm sure it's easy but I don't want to miss a screw somewhere and be prying at it.
Go to the For sale section and ask for one. They cost from $100 to $300 used. Get a 99 or newer deck and just plug it in.
This assumes you have the Bose system in your FRC. A number of FRC's did not come woth the Bose system. If your door speakers don't say "Bose" on them, then you don't have the Bose system. You must then make a bypass cable for the Bose HU before putting it in.
