I have the "GM" drilled/sloted rotors. Got them from Shawn at LAPD. They look good over stock and serve my purpose. But these Eradispeeds all look like they came off a polishing machine on the finish. Is this how they look in person or is this a photoshop deal? If that is how they look do they stay that way? What about rust in the drilled areas? I have the current rotors for appearance only and the Eradispeeds on the surface look far superior in the area of appearance. Any comments would be appreciated. I may be looking to switch again. My rotor collection would then be getting way to BIG! :chevy
I just installed the Eradispeeds on my car the other day. They do look shiney and all but I dont think they looked any better than the Gm Enhanced Rotors I had before. If you use a Carbon based pad on the new Zinc washed rotors they will look a little dirty just because a layer of Carbon is always on the rotors. Dirt and rust are always going to be a problem in the cross drilled areas of a rotor. My next set of rotors are not going to be cross drilled... only slotted.
I will let you know what happens. I have only about 3k miles on a 2000 C5. Probably 1K or less on the rotors. It is a polish and play toy if you know what I mean.
The GM rotors are stock rotors that have been crossdrilled, slotted & Zinc washed. The Baer Rotors are crossdrilled, slotted & zinc washed and made by Baer and not GM blanks. If they were side by side you can tell the diff between the two. ;)
Mine still shine like new but I don't ever really drive in rain. I have about 6 thousand miles on mine.
What kind of pads do you have? Did you clean just before taking the picture?
I just put an Eradispeed/Hawk HPS package on mine last week and after only 400 miles there is a lot of black carbon dust in the slots and holes. I hope that after seasoning the rotors and bedding the pads, dusting will reduce.
I think the rotors will hold their shine but they will have to be cleaned often to look good.
The real reason I bought the Eradispeed rotors (new type with aluminum hats in the front) is the material thickness. The sides or "cheeks" of these rotors, both front and rear, are at least 25% thicker than the stock GM rotors. Hopefully they will last more than 30,000 miles without warping!
No, I didn't clean b4 the picture. When I put on the rotors I put new stock pads on also. I heard that the stock pads dust the least amount of all the pads. They may not have the stopping power of some other pads but as with everything there is a trade off.

shftn6: your rotors are NOT Eradispeeds.... Eradispeeds are two piece with black aluminum hat on the front rotors.. The blank on an Eradispeed is made in Australia.. has a different design .. thicker with smaller vents...More Mass
Your Rotors are Baer enhanced and if they are six monts old .,. they where made using Gm blanks..
These Are Eradispeed rotors
My invoice from Xtreme says Baer Eradispeed Enhanced. I did check a couple websites and they do just call them Enhanced now. Doesn't really make a difference to me I am 100% happy with them and I like them better than the ones with the black hubs.
I really like the Eradispeed rotors. My Baers are still in good shape. Got a lot of nice comments a couple of weeks ago at the show on them and the painted calipers :D
