Default Lowering question

Yestarday I tried to lower my vette. I did just as the instructions say in the Tech Tips (turning the bolts out) for the front. But my car only dropped about 5/8". I turned the bolts out as far as they would go. Seems to me that it should have dropped more that that. WTF? Anybody eles have this occur?
Thanks

I believe 5/8 to 3/4 inches is all you will get from just turning the bolts til you back up against the bushings.

If you need to go lower in the front you will have to cut some or all of the bushing depending on your requirements.

To go any lower in the front, you would need to either cut 2/3 of the bushing, or remove the bolt completely.

To go lower in the back, you can add longer bolts, which will enable you to lower it more without having to cut the rear bushings.
You can also cut the rear bushings.

If you add longer bolts in the back without cutting the front bushings, there will probably be a bigger gap at the front than the back.

That is about what I got on an 01' Z51.
Although it did drop a bit more after a few weeks of driving.
Probably all you will get without cutting the bushings.

i got 3/4'' in the front by just turning the bolts. i ended up removing the entire adjuster bolts a few weeks later. now i have 2 full inches lower in the front after doing that.

Without cutting the bushings, my front dropped only 1/16 on one side and 1/2 on the other. The rear dropped 1 to 1 1/4. I cut the bushings, and the front dropped another 5/8, which didn't seem low enough. The ride got really rough, so I reinserted the rear bushings and raised the back to match the front.
