Default L92 heads on a LS1

Can L92 heads be used on a stock bore LS1? I know the intake will be changed also. I can not go the entire route of the short block at this time, but I want to get the heads and intake and use them on the current LS1. Cam will be changed also...

I think somebody has a L92 for 3.9 bores. Originally they were not made for them, but I believe someone has a set now.
Question is though, why would ya want that big azz port on a 347? I'd stick with smaller cathedrals. You'll make better power with less of a cam.

Someone hinted about GM producing small bore L92 heads but I think it's wishful thinking. I don't think GM is going to do the work for a very limited application.

Throw set of ETP 215's on there.

A couple of months ago GM High Tech Performance magazine reported that a small bore L92 was in the works from the General. If GM is engineering the heads I'm sure they will factor in port size and compression ratio's.

A lot of people use them on Turbo motors because it drops the compression to the desired ratio.

They flow real good and work best in this application.

If your looking to do a head change I'd go with Patriot Heads or a set of TFS heads and a nice cam to compliment it or if you're going to do a Turbo set-up then go with the L92's!

Thanks,Matt

Default Only on a 4" bore for now

L92 heads require a 4" bore. I don't think the small bore heads are out there.

I am pretty sure there is not a 3.9" bore version of the L92 head. I know ETP made a 'small' bore version of the LS7 head, but that also requires a 4.0" bore.

Thanks everyone. I wanted to upgrade the intake side, but only buy heads once, because a 4.00+ bore block is in the future. Guess I should just build now, sell and build again later.

Again thanks for the input.
