Default Z06 Chromies

I want to install a set of Z06 Chrome reproduction wheels on my 2001 Conv. What tires will work with this set up? I understant that some tires will not let the transmitters work. I wanted to go to a non run-flat tire like the Mich. Pilot Sports or the Bridgestone S03's

I have heard of the sensors not fitting with some tires, but very few.

If it fits, the other issue is that if you get a flat in a non-runflat tire, and use a sealant-in-a-can (like comes with the Z06) , it will ruin the sensors. And most folks who run non-runflats carry the can of sealant. One alternative is to carry a plug kit. But that is harder to work with, and will probably ruin the tire for high-speed driving. Sealant just fixes it temporarily until you can get it patched. So your choices are:

1) Use runflat tires and don't worry about flats (but give up some performance)
2) Use non-runflats and carry sealant (but if sealant used, you will ruin the sensor)
3) Use non-runflats and carry a plug kit (but you will likely ruin the tire if you plug it)
4) Use non-runflats and carry a cellphone to call a flatbed wrecker if you get a flat

I personally have decided to stay with the runflats and not to worry about it.
