Default Need shock advice

I just had new tires installed on my '99 Vert. Now I feel a vibration in the rear. It's not a constant bounce like you would have from balance issues. It's more like three or four rapid bounces every second or so (maybe quicker). It is very cyclic. The tire guy say's he thinks it could be a shock problem although I didn't have the problem with the old tires... I'm sceptical and think the tire is defective in some way. He said he would take care of it if it turned out to be the tire. However...if I need to replace the shocks what do I need to buy? My car has selective handling (tour, Rally, sport).I called Ecklers and the guy told me I'd have to get the shocks from the stealership. Say it isn't so ! What other options do I have?

I posted this in general but thought maybe I should post in tech. instead.

Take your pick of any of the aftermarket shocks, and when you get them installed have the selective ride handling tuned out via a Tech II tuner. Wouldn't be a bad idea to throw some used Z06 sways and end-links on while you are at it...

No reason to take it in the rear from the dealer...

They determined that the left rear tire is the problem and ordered a replacement. Will be changed Wednesday. Thanks for the info. I'll remeber for future reference.
