Default Window alignment

Hi gang, I'm going to attempt to adjust my passenger side window this weekend to prevent water leaks on my new interior work that I just completed. I am looking for procedures from the service manual or what other’s have done to correct this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need a small Torx socket to turn the adjusting screws. The screws are accessed thru openings in the bottom of the door covered by rubber plugs. I think there is also something behind the door reflector. Its pretty easy to do, just time consuming.

Send me your email address and I will send you how to do it. I got it in my bookmarks and don't know how to send it any other way.

I have done the tip in and adjust the window up as far as it will go. I am still not setting it in the seal quite right, it needs to go up a little bit more.

I do not trust the dealer to try and fix this again, so How do I fix this???

Caution!!!! I adjusted my drivers side window and now when the window goes up or down it scratches metal in the door. Also I now have to replace the entire window because it left a huge scar on the glass.

Here's a good LINK that shows you how to adjust window tip-in and the blow-out clip to cut down on wind noise...

How did you adjust the window that made it drag inside the door?
I have had the glass out, replaced the whole regulator assembly, and have not had any problems with the glass hitting the door mechanism.

If you are going to make any major adjustments to how the glass sets in the window opening, you will need to remove the door panel and loosen the clamps that hold the glass in the door. There are access holes to reach the bolts. The tip-in and other adjustments at the bottom of the door are for minor adjustments only.

It helps to have one person outside the door centering the glass in the opening while another person is inside to tighten the clamp bolts.

my problem is not tip in... it is how high the window goes up towards the rear. I need about a 1/4 of an inch maybe less to seat it right.

BE CAREFUL!!!! Go slow and check it after small adjustments. If you go too far, you will break your window. Ask me how I know... BTW its about $292 for a side window from GM, and then you have to add tint (if applicable)
