Default Quick Question for All with a YANK SS3200 Stall

Does your stall seem to loose at all?

Or at the beginning did it seem loose and tighten up after driving on it for a long time or a good while?

To me mine seems a little loose to my initial liking!

Is everyone then happy with their YANK SS3200?

No issues or anything you'd change like to a 2800 instead?

How's about this who likes their 3200 stall and why!

How do you like the daily around town driving out of it and also the freeway?

Please let me know!

Thanks,Matt

Mrs. Patches and I both love the Yank SS3200 and 3.42 combo. Actually, it feels tighter than stock to me.

Okay Patches,

What I need to know is:

Did you change any peramiters to the transmission or is it set to stock settings?

If you changed them which ones did you change and at what settings - like line pressures and or shift points - we shouldn't be too far off from eachother?
(I know you mentioned you use HP Tuners- If I remember right )

Mine seems to be a little to loose for my liking and what you describe is the way I want mine to feel.

Mine goes out of lock-up on the freeway and takes waaaay to long to lock-up again.

What I really want is for it to work as you describe yours, so any and all suggestions are really appreciated!

Please let me know as soon as you can!

If you could call or shoot me your phone number I'd like to call and ask you over the phone -My Number and E-mail is below!

Thanks,Matt

How about bringing it to A&A or someone who knows what they're doing?

I'm not sure if you realize it or not, but I'm not tuning it.

It is being tuned by LAPD and my questions are so that I can give feedback and information that others share with me so that we can get the Vette dialed in correctly.

Plus it is for my own personal knowledge- Especially when I called YANK and they said it sounds normal and yet other Forum Members have the same Yank SS3200 and it seems tighter!

So now I'll go this week with the Vette and continue the tune on the tranny - MOTOR is perfect!

I do ask a question - Have you actually gone to A&A or was it just a suggestion for the area around me? (Please respond to this question )

Thanks,Matt

Matt, I did reprogram several parameters using EFI Live. All the part-throttle and WOT shift points were adjusted various percentages (up to -18% or so) and I bumped the line pressures up by 15%. I also lowered the fan-on settings to aid in cooling the tranny fluid since I'm running a tranny cooler due to the higher stall. The shift point percentages were calculated by EFI and vary depending on the parameter based on the gear reduction which, in this case, is 3.42 like yours. I also put in a slight wheel diameter correction factor because the software was ~ 5/8" off so.

So far, it seems to be working well, although, I do need some more seat time to make sure it's where I want it.

Thank you for the information.

I believe it'll help. I really want it to work like the way yours sounds.

So perhaps a little more tuning is necessary. Thank you again for the responses.

This also helps my knowledge of the Vette, for this is my first C5 series and want it to be perfect as possible to my liking.

Now I really like the 3200 I just want it to be a little tighter around town and not to cycle so much on the freeway - That is in and out of lock-up!

Please keep me informed as to your progress as well Again thank you for the help and knowledge!

Thanks,Matt

I have a SS3600 and 3.73 gear. My TC locks up at 32mph in OD and never unlocks unless I hit the brakes. If your TC is unlocking at highway speeds something is wrong. Getting the proper shift speeds and lockup in 3rd and OD at part throttle will make a big difference in how your car feels. Good Luck

Patches,

When you say yours is tighter than stock are you saying it feels normal under your street driving conditions and on the freeway?

Do you feel any of the stall while driving around town?

Mine seems to hang around at - well, through the shifts at 1700 RPM to 2000 depending on amount of pedal being pushed.

How does yours feel under street driving and freeway?

If you have the time, Please let me know!

Thanks,Matt - Same questions for YANKEEVETTECONVERT with SS3600
