I changed the factory stuff to Redline D4 ATF which is Dextron III ok. Works fine. Need 2 qts.

only "special tool" you need is something to get the new fluid back into the trans. One inexpensive good "tool" is something you can get from pep boys. It looks like a huge syringe with a flexable hose instead of a needle. Ajter draining fluid and removing fill plug you just use the tool to suck the new fluid into it as you would a syringe and the put the flex hose into the trans and push the plunger again as you would a syringe to push the fluid into the trans. Repeat until fluid comes flowing out of trans fill. Jeff

Make sure you have the tranny level when you fill it. having it tilted for or aft will change the level at which it reaches the fill hole.

You will need 4 qts. Expect to only get 3.5 to 3.75 qts in. Make sure transmission is level when you refill. Use cheap fluid pump you can buy at any auto parts store to fill transmission.
Shawn at http://www.thlapd.com sells Redline products.
Been using Redline products in my C5 for over 20,000 miles with great results:)
