I WOULD LIKE TO UPGRADE MY COMPUTER. WHICH IS THE BEST THAT CAN BE USED GOOD WITH MORE EXTREAME MODS HEADS & CAM PACKAGES. OR WOULD THE POWERPROGRAMER DO JUST FINE WITH THE SECOND CHIP U CAN HAVE HYPERTECH PROGRAM WHEN U GET T-BODY OR HEADERS  THANK U!!!!!
I don't think Hypertech does custom programming - they just have canned programming that people have had little power gains with. If you change your rear gear, you can change your gear ratios with the Hypertech.
With the Powerloader, your programming will be customized for your particular mods. But if you have a head/cam installed, the shop that installs it will probably already have a relationship with someone to change the programming. It might be Steve Cole with Powerloader, their own, or someone else.
You won't see tremendous gains with a mostly stock 6-speed Vette with the Powerloader. However, It does:
- Turn on the fans at 190 to complement a low temp t'stat
- Raise the rev limiter to about 6,400
- Programming increases low-rpm torque for a little more grunt off the line
So to recap what I'm hearing...err reading: the Hypertech doesn't do much for a M6 car and the PowerLoader doesn't either.
But if you have Cam/Heads done then you need to have the PowerLoader to reprogram stuff. I looks like if you are lucky enough to get Steve Cole to do your program, I will be optimal.
But if you are not so luckly do you use the PowerLoader and program yourself? If so, what do you program.
After my next mods...LT headers & some minor stuff I should be around 405 fwhp. What would Cam/Heads add HP wise?
