I have a totally stock 1998 C5 with auto tranny. When I go to pass someone there is a slight hesitation before downshifting. Will a tune get rid of this?
And if so, who would be prefered to do it mail order? (No tuners close by.)
Yes a tune can fix that! I don't know if I would send away for a tune though??? Or get one of the portable tuners (Predator etc) and change it yourself.
Mine hesitated with light acceleration at 40 60 MPH
Cleaned the MAF and TB and hesitation seemed to go away. About 3 weeks later returned. Replaced plugs with 41-985 Iridiums and new Red Perfomance wires and solved the problem for good. You night want to do these things before trying to tune a car that needs some maintenance. BIGHANK
I am trying to keep this car as original as possible. Any mods I do I would like to be able to remove easily.
And as for the six speed, I would trade for one in heartbeat if I could find on in the shape this one is in. (People that don't know their Vettes think this is brand new!)
