I'll respond, but I can't answer all of your question. I am running 18x9.5 fronts with 265x35x18 and rears with 18x10.5 with 295x35x18.
I believe the 265's will work on your 18x8.5 wheels.

on my C5 I'm running Firestone Wide Oval run flats in the stock C6 sizes, 245x40-18 and 285x35-19 tires on 18x8.5 and 19x10 wheels. No fitment issues at all and no codes. So far they are much better than the GY runflats in ride and handling.
