Default Sumitomo HTR Z II feedback wanted

To all,

I'm shopping for new tires for my '01 that currently has Kumho runflats on it. I noticed that Tire Rack has Sumitomo HTR Z II non-RF for $390 plus s/h for all 4 tires in stock sizes. This seems like an unbelievably low price for replacement tires. All the reviews I read seemed to be positive. Anyone out there have any experience w/ these tires - ride, noise, cornering, wear etc. Thanks for any insights.

My brother had these on his 97 Vette. The car rode and handled awesome and pulled 1.9 60' times on a 6 speed car. My buddy also has these on his Z28 with a 3600 stall and he is pulling 1.8 60'. They are definately one of the best tires for the price.

Ok, I have had the Sumitomo "Haters" on my car all the way around for a little under 4k miles. Coming from the run flats they are much quieter, smoother, and provide better traction. Then again, so will just about any non-run flat tire.

The truth is if you're looking for a budget set of tires...these are it. For under $400 for ALL FOUR, you could replace these three times for what you'd pay for the same size Michelins or Goodyear top-of-the-line tires. Grip is acceptable in wet and dry conditions (down here in Miami) but of course I have no experience with snow. So far cornering for a daily driver is equal to or better than the run flats and I have noticed a little less "bump steer" and highway groove tracking with the Sumitomo's. I don't autocross or road race so no opinions on that. Again, if price is an important factor then feel comfortable with your purchase....

They spin a bit easier, but are quiet with nice DD handeling. If you have Discount tire in your town, you can buy the tires through them at cost, mounted/balanced and with a road hazzard for less than $550! That's what I did and I'm real pleased. I like the agressive tire pattern as well.

Cannot beat this tire when all said and done. Price is not reflective of the quality. These tires perform and last and I will buy them again. They already outlasted and out performed the runflats. Smooth ride great traction what more do you want a designer label?

do these come in 19s and 20s?

And will they out perform Yokohoma AVS Sport tires? I do have 430rwhp so maybe this is why I easily spin them.
