I am going to install a TSP Torquer v.2 cam 232/234 .595/.598 and probably porting the stock heads due to lack of funds. I am also going to intall some LG Pros while i am at it. My question is what do i need to do the install besides the cam and headers. What gasket should i use for the headers?
LS2 time chain, o-ring or gaskets?
Should i use a thinner gasket to increase compustion pressure, and are the valves going to hit if i use a thinner gasket?
Sorry for the all the questions just need to make sure i order everthing i need. Thanks in advanced
LS1HOWTO should point you in the right direction on what you might need, i used this when i did my H/C in my garage, also upgraded to a LS2 timing chane and ASP underdrive pully...and go with what Jason said with the F body gaskets for the headers.
I would recommend the stock MLS head gasket. I've heard good and bad stories about the cometics gaskets (no 1st hand experience with them though).
If you're certain you won't mess up your valve train geometry the thinner gasket may give you a little more compression but I would think the gains would be nominal unless you mill the heads.
