How does one adjust the shifter linkage? Is there a writeup?

Thanks

My car was doing the same thing. They dropped the transmission to look at it and saw no issues at all.

Still was doing it so I took it back in for service and told the tech to "drive the car hard" to duplicate it! ... My problem is when you would drive hard and come to a stop you couldn't get the car back in first.

Long story short: Shift Linkage adjustment and now all is fine.

It's at the shop now, but they're talking about replacing it because transmissions are 'too hard' to work on. It's only got 6500 miles + one good jarring hit from an idiot; is there some other stuff I can ask the shop to try first before pulling the whole thing?
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=132290 is the only thread I found that sounds similar. c4c5specialist mentioned 'you should perform a shifter adjustment first', so I'll mention that, but more suggestions and more detail would be welcome (I'm also afraid if I say 'please perform a shifter adjustment' they'll look at me like I'm an idiot or not have a clue what I mean; I am an idiot on these cars so far, but would like to fix that to some extent).

Thanks,
David
I had a hard shift after my dealership moved the rear cradle assembly just a little to satisfy my complaint about the wheel not being centered in the wheel well (even though the cradle is located by pins it has some play) so when I got home I loosened the bolts holding the transmision to the cradle and the rubber mount snapped back to its nuetral position and the hard shift got better, so I think it could be an alignment issue of the shift rod. In your case maybe from the accident.
