The way the car is now (3.42) you can't redline in 6th. The air resistance becomes greater that the thrust available at the real wheels.
When looking at top end, too many people just accept the figures given on a slide-ruler. Then real life rears its ugly head and reminds us that mathematics -alone- doesn't mimmic the real world.

, which it almost never is.In the end, Mike and LV Vette are right, since drag and tire rolling resistance increases so fast at those speeds, they overcome the engines capabilities for power. You may gain a few mph if you had an unlimited track. But since your limited to the mile, I don't think you'd see much of a difference.
Adding more power, however.......
