Ghost in the Machine....HELP!!!
I have a very nice, somewhat cosmetically modified '01 Z06 with about 50,000 miles on her. My proplem goes something like this. Car unlocks, open door, all lights on working normally, key in ignition turn to on position - DIC dies, no response, turn to start position - DIC still dead, no response, no start, at eithere position, all other electrical devices work fine(windows,radio,fans,lights). Here's the kicker......it doesn't do it all the time. It seems to be completely random with no pattern. It will eventually come around and wind up and the DIC will come on and everything will work like nothing happened.
Steps taking so far.....checked and cleaned every accessable ground. Haven't been to the ones at the rear of the vehicle yet but planning on it. had my one year old battery checked...no problems. Been to the dealership twice and received the "Could not recreate conditions" rap. Any advice
