Question about NOS bottles
I have been wondering something and hopefully someone here can fill me in. Is there a reason all nitrous bottles are cylinders? If there is a technical reason, what is it? If not, could a bottle be built that conformed to the storage wells in the rear of the car so they could be completely hidden from view?

10LB NX Express bottle fits perfect in center storage area. With cover on you cannot see bottle.
When mounting bottle side ways, rotate bottle about 35 degress as in my picture. To take better advantage of bottle siphon tube during a acceleration.

A cylinder will always be able to hold more pressure than a shape that has corners/edges. Similar reasoning as submarine design.
