I remember someone adding a plumbing plug/gasket on a hurst shifter install???Help?

I did several searchs and could not find this. I remember reading a thread about using a plumbing plug or gasket from home depot to help quiet or insulate the hurst/B&M shifter.
Do any of you rememebr this???

The factory shifter has rubber isolators under the shift plate to reduce noise/vibration transmission. I had never thought about it but I suspect you can find a fabric reinforced rubber washer or nylon spacer at Lowe's that will do exactly what you mentioned. Great tip from whoever originally posted the idea!
I used a 1-1/2" version of this Fernco plumbing cap I got at Lowe's. Works well. Cut a 5/8" hole in the center and push it over the shaft. The 2" version pictured works better with the C6 shifter.
