Default TQ Tube, snap-ring pliers???

Where can I get the correct size snap-ring pliers to remove the snap-ring from the TQ Tube???

AND can the TQ Tube be removed from the front of the car? I already have the engine out and do not want to lower the trans/rear-end.

I borrowed this photo from Cajundudes web site

The snap ring is under a lot of pressure.

I bought a heavy duty set of snap ring pliers that lock as you squeeze them.

I think I got them at Big "A"s auto parts store. I squeezed in the snap ring and then got a little flat head screwdriver to get it out of the grooves.

There are two different types of snap ring pliers internal and external, you need internal. (i.e. when you squeeze handles the tips move in, not out.

I bought mine at a local tools store, even with the right tool it was a pain to reinstall.

It is possible to remove the torque tube with the engine out but you need to drop the rear suspension at least one foot to do it. The torque tube will not move forward enough because the tunnel is in the way. I just did this on a 2001.
