reason I ask is I had a tuner who did not know what he was talking about tell me mine were bad as one of three reasons he couldn't pull timing. Turned out he was wrong on all three counts. So I was just curious.
i work at a dealership and they ran it through the computer and it says knock censor #2 low input... So my machanic needed to know where it was located, cause he has never done one to a vette before... My check engine light keeps comming on after we clear it, is it something worse? Both my shop manager and my mechanic seem to think not... they cannot find anything? anyone else have this problem?
First off, don't take it to a mechanic who doesn't know Corvettes. Secondly, the knock sensors(two of them) are located just underneath the instake manifold. Its a 30 minute job to remove it and get to them and they are easy to replace.
i agree with everone here that it is a very easy DIY job. FYI if the connector ends break when you remove them from the sensor you can buy just the short harness that connects to the knock sensor i think they are around 40 from fred beans. Good luck.

If they don't know where the knock sensors are located and don't know how to find the information, then I would run very fast to someone else.

You make a good point on the connector ends. They break easily if you get in there with pliers for example and squeeze just the least little bit too hard. These are a "squeeze to release" design and it's best to squeeze with fingers if possible. Since they are recessed it may not be too easy. If pliers DO get used, squeeze only just enough to release and then pull upwards. Ask me how I know this.
thanks for the advice... my shop manager and my mechanic have worked on vettes before, but didnt know the location of the sencors... now they do and the problem is solved.... thanks...

Mine broke on sensor #1 and I keep getting the engine light and code P0327. How hard is it to replace the ends? Can I get the ends from the local deal?
