just had a call from chevy for a survey on if i had any problem with my 2002 corvette. 30 new chevys and 9 new corvettes this is the first time for a survey for me. so far the car is great although i have only 230 miles on it. anyone else ever had this call?
Yes, I got a similar call back in 96 for my new pickup. It suprised the h*** out of me too. I had about 5,000 trouble free miles on the truck at the time, so I gave a favorable report.
I received a call from the "factory" after I purchaed my 1999 C5 coupe. I was very satisfied with the car.
After 3 years, 22,000 miles, 3 out-of-state breakdowns, and 16 separate defects, I am completely disatisfied with car. The quality and reliability has been poor.
Recently I received a call from Chevrolet Customer Service after I checked the "not at all satisifed" box regarding the car on a survey I received. I told the representative of the breakdowns and asked if she could see on her computer screen all of the problems the car has experienced. She stated she could see that I have had considerable problems. She apologized and said Chevrolet has "sophisticated computers" that would enable her to forward my comments to someone.
It is too bad that the factory doesn't conduct follow-up calls after the car has been on the road for a while. Rarely does a "new" car have any problems initially, and most owners seem to be very happy upon purchase. Ironically, many of the defects I have experienced seem to be common ones posted here on the Forum, and often addressed by Chevrolet in MANY of the technical service bulletins they have issued for the C5.
My chevy calls me after every visit, it is really nice that they are attentive to the service you receive after the initial purchase. This is similar to the service for the Audi I had previously, except the vette is fast and not falling apart  .
What they should do is call you back after you have had the car for about a year. You would be much more familiar with its good and bad points by that time.
I have a 2001, and have had it over 1 year. Got the call last week from chevy asking what I liked and disliked, and my suggestions for improvements. He talked to me about 40 min. and recorded what I told him.
I received a written survey about a month after I took delivery. On the survey I mentioned that I had a rattle in the dash area. About a month after I sent in the survey I got a call from somebody with Chevrolet Customer Service asking about the rattle. I told her it had since gone away.
It looks as though somebody is at least reading them and making a follow-up call.
They should have surveys for 1 yr and 3 yr periods too, some problems don't appear for a while. After 230 miles I would sure hope there was nothing wrong with the car!
