After having my headlights completely removed from the vehicle several times while replacing the plastic gears and installing the plug n play kits for low beams and fog lights I NOW find that the lights move around as I am driving and hit normal bumps or ruts in the road.
It appears there is now extra play in the control arm that attaches to the housing and the motor. The play seems to be in two places. One is where the shaft holds the linkage arm to the housing and the other in the elbow of the linkage arm at the rivet that holds them together.
With the light housings in the up position I can lift on the bottom right corner of the lights and feel/see the amount of play and I can look in and see that the headlights move significantly because of extra play in the linkage arm.
Yeah i am having this same problem, had someone "look" at it, but they gave me some line about needing to replace the motor, but that works fine, light just will not always stay up.
Sorry just saw i posted in the C5 forum.

I don't a fix but I have the same problem. I don't think I put the white bushings back in with the bolts at the rear of the housing. Check to see if you have the bushings in or need new ones. Good luck.
