Thanks to the tips and suggestions on the forum, I now have the B&M Ripper installed.
Words along cannot describe what a complete pain in the butt getting that FREAKING pin out of the stock **** is.. :mad :mad :mad
BUT.. now that it's out.. and with a Exit 28 shift **** on it.. I'm a happy camper..
Oh.. took me a few times putting it into 1st to believe it was there.. hehe.. Talk about shorter throw. I hardly feel like I'm moving the lever at all.
Installing the Blackwing, BPP MAF Ends, and BPP Powerduct took about another hour :D
Thanks goes to RG @ Exit 28 Motorsports for the great customer service.

Okay, I tried to read everything I could about the Ripper and Kirban before I leaped. I went with the Ripper and a Momo F-16 ****, and mine rattles! I have read about the "fixes", but do all of them rattle? Why?
I think you also need to make sure to remove ALL of the old gasket material from the old shifter. If you don't you give the new shifter room to move and get loose, causing rattles.
One other thing I did on mine was to add a SMALL amount of RTV to the threads on the shifter before I put the billet **** on (Exit 28 **** btw). This gives the threads a little more vibration dampening and also ensures the ball won't turn.
Compared to the stock unit, I don't even feel like I'm moving the shifter at all.. heh.
Also.. if you decide to get one.. you won't find better service than RG at Exit 28 Motorsports.
:D

Thats great!! Wait till it starts rattling and driving you nuts.........see how much you love it!!
  Ignore that
--- I'm glad you like it :yesnod: I love mine, and No--- it doesn't rattle in any way.
Nice meeting you as well. I'm still getting used to the stiffness of it, but it's SO nice and solid.
I actually hooked up with a friend of mine with a 99 and we checked out a couple places. Pretty funny though.. lots of overhead observers Sat night followed quickly by San Diego's Finest if anyone decided to race..
Corsa's are going on as I write this.. after hearing your car.. I can't wait.
Listen..............the shifter rattle situation has been an on going problem for some people. I personally love the shifter for it's purpose....thats why I bought it. However dealing with that rattle is :bs .
It apparently is not a matter of mechanical knowledge! I have installed 6 of these shifters in C5's and 3 of them rattle!
Granted, when I'm at the track I don't care, but occassional street rip's are anoying with the Ripper!
I put on the Hardbar **** and it rattles slightly. Its obvious that its the ****. I think I'll be going with a heavier **** sometime down the road, I'm just not sure if I like the pistol grip shifting, give me a simple round ball any day. I'm thinking about getting the one made by Kirban.
The stock shifter maybe a cheap stamped steal piece of junk, but the factory knew what they were doing when they made the rubber boot that bolts to the floor fit into it. I wish somebody would make one that fit better against the ripper.
I installed a Ripper quite a while ago. I really like it and if you lug the car in a tall gear you will get a rattle from the transmission... you will feel it in the stick. For those of you who never lug your car... you will never feel a rattle of any kind. I do recommend the ripper as it is a great shifter to have on your car!!
