Anybody with a coupe have a rattle that sounds like it's coming from hatch.
It doesn't appear to be speed sensitive, but has plasticky kind of sound.
I've basically taken everything out of rear but no luck. Even took to dealer but of course noise didn't appear. Help
:cuss
Yeah, I also have that rattle. Mine seems to be coming from the driver's side rear, and it is kind of a plastic sound, kinda like cracked plastic or something. It's annoying as hell and I don't know what to do about it
I had the same sound in my 1999 C5 coupe. I determined it was caused by the plastic "hooks" that are screwed into a stud on the hatch, (the "hooks" that the rear cargo cover attaches to).
I purchased black, flat rubber washers (Home Depot) that were the same diamater as the "hooks" (about 3/4 inch) and placed them under the "hooks". That eliminated the noise. The "hooks" were slightly loose before I installed the rubber washers, and would ratchet or rub on the coupe top.

Re: Rattle in 2001 Coupe (Roadrage)
Something else to check for. The little black plastic tag attached to the end of the fuel door "emergency" release cable. I put a small piece of velcro on the back (smooth) side of the tag and then stuck it to the carpet where it would be up underneath the fender and out of the way. :D
Determined it was coming from where the sun visor attaches to the roof. Put black tape around the rod where it connects to the roof. Noise is gone.
Hope this helps.

Still looking for your rattle? I had one for a while and just found out what it was. The underside of the hatch deck ( the lip where the weatherstripping is attached on the sides) has a plastic trim piece that is connected with double sided tape. Mine came loose and was rattling occassionally. Pushed it back up and so far it seems to be sticking fine. Rattle is now gone.
I had two rattles on my '01 when I picked it up new. Great prep! First, was that the hatch did not rest on the rear rubber bumpers--missed by almost a quarter-inch on one side and 3/16's on the other! Duh! It rattled on the latches. Great production standards, huh? And, since the bumpers didn't seem to be adjustable like my 40-year old and older collectibles, I added two small donuts of ultra-dense, closed-cell foam and all was well, except... Second, was the top rattling in the twist-in retainers when stowed. Rubber inserts were the answer this time. Best of luck.
Had the same problem. My 2001 had a rattle from the rear drivers side privacy shade hook. Use a liitle black tape, clear silicone or a hose gasket from home depot.
The lights that light up the cargo area are in the cargo area. I had my girlfriend ride back there. She pushed on the light and they popped back in and the rattle was gone. Just push on them and it'll go away if that's it.
My rattle is inside the passenger sun visor, near the inboard end. The visor rattles around the plastic arm that passes through it, there must be some hard plastic inside the visor to rattle against the arm. Trying to figure out an easy fix.....
I made BIG progress on my rear rattle this weekend! Maybe it'll work for you! I was getting some suspension rattles on small bumps - the kind that make you think it's suspension but didn't happen with every bump.
I decided to upgrade my sway bar end links, thinking that the plastic ones couldn't be as firm as the aluminum used in 2002 and up. After all, if GM decided the aluminum parts were better, it would be an easy mod.
I called Tom in Parts at Fichtner Chevy 406-628-4121 and we talked it over. He said the rear Z51 sway bar is the same as the Z06, so no change needed. He said the Z06 front sway bar was a little bigger, but I decided to pass for now. I have the Z51 suspension on my 2001 coupe, so I really don't need heavier/thicker sway bars for the kind of driving I do. We agreed that the end links must be better and I ordered four from him - part number 10351954. The net price was about 40% off of list - can't go wrong with that!
My jacking method was bring the rear up at the rear crossmember, put blocks under the wheels to relive any tenshon on the end links. Rhino ramps would have been better and easier - gotta put that on my wish list!
I took off the factory rears first. One was on snug, one was loose! The way you have to hold the bolt with a torx driver and turn the pinch nut with a box end wrench - must be tough to get it torqued tight enough or with any accuracy. I'm pretty sure now, this is the source of my rear suspension rattle! So off they go into the trash.
The new links have a different tightening scheme. The base of the link bolt has a flange for an 18mm (or loose 3/4) open-end wrench to hold it while turning down the pinch nut. Torquing it to 56lbs (60lbs on my swing scale) was easy now, considering I could use a socket and the open-end wrench combo to get it snugged accurately.
The front links were steel, and came off the same way as the rears. On the fronts, it's a little tighter, so I used my air-ratchet with a torx driver to spin the bolt and back out the pinch nuts. Install was easy now that I'd mastered the wrench/socket combo. Torqued it up and let her down easy.
I took her out for a ride over a patch of road that usually produced a lot of rear rattling - Victory! No rattling! Drove it around for a bit and I've gotta say, looks like this problem is SOLVED!
Hope you have the same results as I did. You could try tightening the rear links, but that'd be counted as a repair, not a mod - not the same effect!
