Default Power Steering Problem - Need Advice

After a few hard brakings at rather short intervals, steering gets awfully stiff, almost blocked and it is extremely hard to turn the steering wheel .
Same has happened to a friend of mine on a mountain road in the French Alps recently .

Any clue about the reason for this ?

Mine did the same thing when I was tracking my car at Sears Point Raceway. My problem turned out to be getting the power steering fluid too hot while on the track with my rpm elevated for extended periods. I put on a Z06 power steering oil cooler and it was fixed. GM already figured this out and fixed it on the Z06's. Put on a cooler, flush out your system and use high quality power steering fluid.

Sorrry John, it's me again . I forgot to ask you : where did you find the steering oil cooler ? Is there an existing kit available somewhere ?

get ahold of Gene Culley and tell him you need a GM Z06 power steering oil cooler. Costs about $117. It's pretty easy to install.
