The "H" indicates a history of the code. The "C" indicates a cureent condition. You may try to erase the codes. There are instructions on how to do that in the tech tips section under erasing DIC codes. It really is pretty easy. The HVAC is the airconditioning and heating ,the PCM is your Power control monitor(drivetrain functions..engine and trans)The RFA is your radio.TCS is your Traction control/ Active handling.
Once the codes have been erased you may also disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the PCM.Sometimes this works. It really depends of the severity of the codes. I remeber seeing C5 Tech had a homepage with ALL the codes and there meaning.
Hopefully C4C5 specialist or C5 tech will answer your post. For now ,try my suggestion. I've been there ,I know how you feel.
Ok, I disconnected the battery for about 5 minutes, and nope, it acts like I never unhooked it.. Is their any way to RESET the computer by pulling a certain fuse??
Well if this is any help, this is what the codes mean:
P1515 Command vs Actual Throttle Position performance (PCM Module) -A
P1516 Command vs Actual Throttle Position performance (TAC Module) -A
C1278 TCS Temporarily Inhibited by PCM
B0338 Inside Air temp sensor open
U1096 Loss of Communications with IPC (No State of Health Message)
U1064 Loss Of Communication with DCM (No SOH Message Received -RFA
U1016 Loss Of Communication with PCM (No SOH Message Received -RFA
I have no clue what this all means. But I hope it helps.
There is a couple of quick things to check before going to the dealer.
1. Check the DLC star connection at the passenger footwell. If there is a bad or loose connection here, the different modules will not communicate with each other properly.
2. Pull off your RF tire and remove the access cover to allow access to the PCM and TAC. Check to see if there is any visible corrosion..
Thanks for all the advice.. Everything looks fine.. Tried unplugging all the connectors and they look good.. This should be covered under my factory warranty right??
YEP, should be a warranty issue.....and since it is an emissions thing (i would guess the PCM would be considered an emissions system component) I think the warranty on it is longer????
Re: "Reduced Engine Power" 7 Codes... HELP!!! (Ram Air Tony)
"REDUCED POWER" and the 1516 code means that you have a fault with the "drive by wire"...A faulty TAC module and or faulty accelerator pedal (w/APP sensor) are the most common culprit. The TCS code simply means that the traction control was inhibited while the emissions fault was present...If you ever had a leaky battery, the TAC module is mounted under it :( ...Sounds like a trip to the dealer to pinpoint a diagnoses :yesnod:
C-5 TECH knows his stuff. I had this problem twice. Once for the pedal end and once for the throttle end. Guess what I also had a battery leak that screwed up something under it. Definately a trip to a good dealer. :flag
