Default a stupid question!!!

when I was taking my wheels off yesterday I forgot to break the nuts loose before I jacked up the car so I had my girlfriend hold the breaks, whiched worked for the passenger side but would not hold the drivers side. Does that mean that that break is not working at all even while driving(I did not try it with the engine running)?

Sounds like you MIGHT have a problem. I would get it checked out. It could be as simple as having the brakes bled. There could be some air in the lines. Have you noticed the car pulling to the left when you step on the brakes? If so, then you might have a problem. Maybe others will have additional thoughts and input on this issue.

Brakes work on vaccume so if the car was not running then by pressing the peddal you used up the stored vaccume in the booster. So in order to get the brakes to work again you need to re-build up the vaccume by starting the engine. So I'd say your brakes are fine just remember to start your engine before you re-apply the brakes..... Hope this helps
