Default 96 GS wheels on a 99FRC

Hi....I have a chance on a set of 96 Black wheels with the chrome lip.
Does anyone have a picture, have a set on their car so I could see what they look like???

TIA

That would be a backwards move. The GS wheels are smaller in diameter than the stock rears. I'm not even sure if the offsets would work. Even so, you'll need at least new rear tires with a higher sidewall to replicate the diameter of the stock C5 tires. It might make the rear ride softer but would not enhance the handling.

LT1,

exactly my setup on Torch Red 99 FRC with 275 x 40 x 17 fronts and 315 x 35 x 17 rears with Sumitomo HRZ - non-runflats, thanks to previous owner.

Advise you to check available tires in these sizes at Tirerack, etc. Not a whole lot of tire choices. Outside diameter for these tires is the same and not "staggered" per OEM and you may also lose some ground clearance. Compare tire specs at Tirerack, etc.
99 OEM Tire pressure sensors can be fitted per Bob W at Fitchner Chevy.

Give me a couple of days to locate old digital pictures for you.

I've been contemplating doing the exact same thing and came across the article and pictures here.

Other things to consider are tires are much cheaper for 17" wheels than 18's and you'll have a hard time finding an 11" wide wheel for less money. (I'm a cheap bastard)

I run 17x11 GS (GM A-molds) wheels with 315-35-17 at all four corners on my '02 Z06. I am lowered to the stock bolts and do not have any issues.

The only thing you must do is zip tie the rear e-brake cable or ABS wires towards the shock so that the wheel/tire does not rub on it.
