Default Retrofit HUD?????????

How hard is it to retrofit HUD into a 99FRC that didn't have it from the factory?
Is it worth doing, or is it not worth the aggrevation?

TIA

1) Contact Pace This
2) I guess it would depend on how badly you want the HUD, wouldn't it?

PaceThis has an entire kit. He includes an instructional DVD. Search the Classifieds or General for his posts. Easy Saturday job...

I added HUD to my 99FRC. I'd say it was worth doing.

If you are reasonably mechanically inclined, follow the directions carefully that have been (and are) posted here a number of times, you should have no difficulty. As for if it's worth it,... well that's a personal matter, but I've not yet encountered anyone with one that doesn't like it.

My first encounter with the HUD was in the aircraft I flew. I couldn't wait to get one in a car.

In your case, the only major issue that you might have is whether or not your cluster is HUD compatible. If it is, not a problem, if it isn't it can become a bit more difficult, but if you talk to Jason (PACE THIS) he can talk you through it easily.

Good luck, I don't believe you'll be disappointed... GUSTO

Default HUD install

I installed the HUD I purchased from PaceThis (Jason) in my 2000 FRC. The install took me about 5.5 hours. The unit is awesome. It is as if it was installed during the build at the factory. Everything is perfect. The instructions are complete and comprehensive in every detail. I really enjoy the unit, and the satisfaction from installing it myself is most rewarding. Don't think twice about it...if you think you can do it...you can. Good luck. Will be glad to give you advise should you need it during your install.

Default HUD install

I helped Joe0121 on his install in a FRC1999 and it was real easy with the DVD and kit from PaceThis....I have one on my '01 Convertible and I love it. Joe really loves his and he can read it just fine even without the "special" HUD windshield. Do it, you won't regret it one bit. The biggest deal was cutting out of the dash board....just go ahead and do it and don't look back. When cutting out the dash, just stay within the lines and you will be fine. Send us pictures!
