Sometimes my cruise control disengages when I turn on the right turn signal. Has anybody else had this problem? I'm wondering about a short in the turn signal/cruise control lever, the car is a '99 six speed.

YES! mine does the same thing. 99, 6 speed. not all the time, only once in a while if the cruise is on, I hit the right turn signal to change lanes and the cruise disengages. never happens with the left. I have no idea what's causing it. if anyone has ever looked into this or knows anything else please let us know! I would love to get rid of that problem.
I know one feature of the C5 is that if you make sharp enough turns at high speed while cruising it will disengage the cruise for you. maybe its that mechanism not working quite right or something?
I suspect it is a broken wire in the switch which makes intermittent contact. Mine had a broken wire for the cruise control but the turn signal had no effect.

Could be, we normally see the pressure switch on the brake pedal aasy. needs adjusted if it happens when you hit hard bumps as well.
excellent point. since the same switch does the turn signals and the cruise (terrible design by the way) maybe somehow it has its wires crossed causing this problem. I bet a new switch would take care of it. probably too expensive to be worth the cost for a very infrequent problem though.
