Special thanks to Gene and GM Parts House! I had a valve spring and OEM GM roller rocker fail last week (Wednesday) so I placed the order at 11pm Wed night after determining the problem. 130k miles on oem rockers with a pretty lumpy cam, PRC valvesprings, etc just put them over the top. The new rockers are coming in today according to UPS!!!
Jon (or John) at TSP was also a great help getting the replacement spring shipped out ASAP and that should be coming in soon too!
Special thanks to MR1911 for loaning me his spring compressor....that will make the job a lot easier
Now the fun part is searching for all of the needles that fell out of the bad rocker....I'm NOT excited about where they could be, but I'm not ripping down the engine to find them either. If the engine goes....its just a reason for a 408 or 427.

Reason: correction
Gene is a great resource, I'll order from him whenever possible.
The needles from the rocker are usually not an issue, they should end up in the pan and eventually on the magnetic plug. GM has had a bulletin out on the rockers for some time and I haven't heard any engine failures due to them.
Thanks for the FYI Chevy Guy! I'm happy to hear they're not an issue. As long as they're smaller than the oil pump screen, I don't see them making a LOT of damage as long as the filter does its job with any of the ground up particles that might make it past the screen. The new rockers are installed, just waiting on the new spring from TSP. I'm picking up a new GM valve seal just in case the OEM one got ruined when the spring broke. Better safe than sorry.
Regarding the rockers...can you provide any more detail about the bulletin? These ones are 1997 rockers...and my VIN ends with 303 so its the 303'rd C5 ever built....
