Last week I went out to start my C5 and I got nothing except the sound of the fuel pump whining. I tried to start it several times with no luck. So I then went to find someone with some jumper cables to give it a jump. Well I got back in the car and it fired right up. Well jump to this morning and I get the same problem. Wouldn't start. I checked the terminals to ensure that they were tight, which they were. Car would still not start after several tries. I waited a little while and tried it again and it started.
Has anyone had this problem? Was it the battery? I went ahead and decided to purchase an Optima just to be safe. Now my problem is that the AC/Delco mounting bracket doesn't hold the Optima down properly and it slides around. Does Optima make a hold down bracket for the C5?
Yes Optima makes a piece for mounting to the Vette. Call Optima direct at 888-867-8462. I think you go for the technical help prompt if I remember. Ask the rep for the mounting puck for a Chevy Corvette. Also, if you go the yellow top ask for the covers for the additional terminal posts.
I installed the red top with no modification bracket. I just loosened the bolt and bracket, installed battery and tightened. Battery is installed tight and fits great.!!
