any one have any feed back pro or con about Cartech in Garwood NJ . I live near them and was thinking of looking into heads and cam package . I was wondering if they are as good as MTI in Houston TX. thanks :flag
I was wondering the same thing about the Cartek guys, but was wondering how they compare to SLP down in Toms River (I think). Thanks everyone for your help.
I have been dealing with Cartek for over a year with my C5. Take it from someone who has been dealing with independent performance shops all around the country relating from Corvettes to snowmobile drag racing. When you can deal with someone that you can actually meet face to face, the whole relationship changes.
Over this year I have got to know Dave and Julio pretty well. They are very "real people". They don't need to have all those BS adds in the magazines. There stuff does its advertising on the street and most certainly on the track! I also noticed that if you where not happy with something, as long you opened your mouth they would do whatever it took to get it right. Dealing with some companies only over the phone is a tough deal sometimes. Another good point to remember is that all the ported heads, cams, intakes and long tube headers aren't worth a hill of beans with some good dyno tuning. Julio knows these motors very well and has been around F/I cars a long time, plus he knows how to use the dyno!! There are plenty of guys on this forum that could related to this post!!

Re: Cartech in NJ? (8vettes)
Although I'm not a C5 only a C4, CARTEK made my 95,000 miles stock bottom end run very, very good. See numbers in sig.
I would recommend Julio and Dave to everyone.

Re: Cartech in NJ? (mackeyred96)
These guys are great, theirs cars they work on rip up the track, they stand behind their work and know their stuff. Oh, and did I mention give great customer service.
julio and dave did a very good job here with me. having an A4 hit the 11's would make anyone happy. they also took very good care of my C5 when they did all the work. it was practically wrapped up in towels to protect the paint and i got it back with NOT one scratch.

Re: Cartech in NJ? (robsvette)
Cartek did a great job with H/C,clutch etc. on my 00
64,000 miles
runs 11's
204 MPH top speed (GPS verified)
20 mpg driven daily/30 on the highway
Just passed NJ. emissions inspection with flying colors today.
What else can I say their AWESOME. I 've been dealing with Cartek for almost 2 yrs and I have nothing but praise for these guys. Julio really knows his motors and Dave knows everything else. They stand behind their work 100% and have never let me down. I only had one quality issue with them, my trans couldn't hold the 427rwhp that Cartek gave me. But they really took care of me on that one. :D :D :D I have NO complaints with Cartek, they are A+ in my book and would recommend them to anyone. I think their work performance and quality compares and maybe surpasses alot of tuners out there. Just my opinion and experience though.
I have been dealing with Julio and Dave for almost 3 years. My car has been a test vehicle for new and innovative ideas.
Currently it is being fitted with a 427cu in nitrous motor with all the goodies. When it is all sorted out, this car will be a real tribute to the knowledge and work that Cartek can do!
Call Cartek at 908-317-4496 and talk to either Dave or Julio. Question them and all the high performance shops about what you want to do and what they recommend. I am sure you will be in "awe" over the knowledge and expertise that Cartek exhibits.
Ask them about my car and you will see what the "ultimate street machine" is all about.
Blackthunder,
Any idea when you will make that first run in your beast? Hope to see it real soon or will you wait for the spring. See you soon Brian...
I am hoping to get some testing in over the next 3-4 weeks. Computer reprograminig is holding up the entire project. We hope to get is all ironed out real soon.
I understand you are going for a big cube motor also-- How is your's coming along and when do you think it will be ready?
They recently did my rear change to 3.73s and did a great job. Also had them run her up on their dyno and with a little fine tuning, the car is running ssstrong! They will do more work for me down the road....

:nono: i see trouble ahead. moundir, remember what happened the last time! you created your own bad experience IMO. when you bring a whopper from burger king over into mcdonalds and try to eat it there. i don't think ronald mcdonald would be too happy with you either, even mr burger king himself. no flames though, i just think you're acting like a trouble maker now and started the beginning of a closed thread again.
i think you should concentrate more on going to the track and changing those plates. i'm sure you have a strong running C5, now get some track #'s.
Moundir, don't start your CRAP. I found out the whole scoop from a realiable source about your so callled con. Their is no satisfying little bitches like yourself. Now if you had a Con like a certain member on this forum with a particular tuner, then I can see your gripe. But to sit here and say you had a problem with Cartek is unfounded. Why don't you stop your whining and SHUT the **** up already.
