Default Autometer oil

Looking to install mech. oil gage. I have seen where people are using plug on driver-side front of block. Does anyone see any problem with being used.

Thanks
Jarad

Why mechanical? Electrical reduces risk of a nasty oil leak...

Good point... Mainly interested in access point. When I go to order I'll make my mind up. Don't think I've ever seen one that hasn't sometime had a leak of some kind.

You may be able to adapt one of the performance oil cooler fittings so you can install a pickup just above the oil filter. Other than being a relic of the past and probably inaccurate as hell what advantage is it? If installed properly they will not leak as there are many early C3s with stock mechanical oil pressure gauges that haven't leaked in close to 40 years.
