Well, I tried to send you a PM but your box is full. Go to www.rodneydickman.com and buy his brass replacement gear (your OEM is plastic, that's your noise) Most folks buy two kits and do both sides at the same time.

Wow that website needs help I"ll check it out. Thanks for the link, and letting me know about my box.
Few bucks less than my deductible, and a MUCH better solution it looks like.
Yeah, your gears are shot. I ordered the brass set from that website and it is a hell of a lot cheaper than having the stealership do it. By doing the DIY, you would roughly save $500 from the stealership. Well worth it IMHO. If I can do the DIY, anyone can do it...I am mechanically declined...

Well, I have the GMPP warranty with $100 deductible.
But I'd rather avoid the dealer for around that $ mark if I can.

If you go through the dealer...later on down the line it will do it again...but if you replace it with the brass gears...you can rest easy that it will not give you any problems.

Except for the fact that stupid glue they give you never holds the covers on the motors. Both my motors are wrapped in zip ties just in case!
My car is a 1997, it has the metal motors, and has screws on the cap. I replaced 1 gear with a plastic replacement. My other one didnt make it here, so i was lookin at the one i took out, there is just 1 little spot where its stripped, and the rest of the gear is perfect, so i decided to index the gear 180 degrees, and presto, no more noise. It works great now! I think i will wait until it does it again before i mess with it again.
