Default Strange bucking / missing issue

Hello guys,

I have a 2003 Z06 with a strange issue, and I thought maybe someone has seen this before. It just started happening.

The car will buck / miss under acceleration (even very light acceleration) after cruising at a constant speed for a while.

Once this starts to happen I can accelerate to 5K+ RPMs once, and it will not happen any more until I cruise at a constant speed for a while again.

Also, it only seems to happen after the engine fully warmed up.

Here an example of my test drive today:

(1) Drove car around city until warmed up
(2) Car ran just fine
(3) Drove on highway at a constant 60-65 MPH in 5th for 2 - 3 miles
(4) Slowed down to 45 and put it into 4th
(5) Car will buck and miss under acceleration
(6) Accelerate until RPMs are up to 5K or more
(7) Cars runs fine now until I cruise at a constant speed for a while

The car runs fine under full throttle, but if the problem is happening it will buck and miss at first, then clear up and run fine once the RPMs are taken up one time.

On my last test drive, just after the problem happened, and I ran the RPMs up once. Then I stopped and ran full throttle in 1st - 3rd. Car did not miss a beat.

The car has new plugs, wires and fuel filter.

Anyone have any ideas or seen this before?

** EDIT ** MORE INFO **

One more thing. When the car was missing today the check engine light started to flash on and off for about 10 seconds. Then it went off. There are no current or history codes in the PCM.

Thanks!

I have an update.

Today I got 2 cans of Seafoam. I put one in the tank, then filled up with some Exxon 93 octane.

Then when I got home I disconnected the brake booster, and ran the other can of Seafoam through the intake.

After an initial test drive problem appears to be gone, but I want to drive it a few more times to be sure.

Got my fingers crossed.

I had similar issue last week. Rough idle, shutter on exceleration. Cleaned MAF and TB, changed plugs and wires with no change. Seafoamed the top end and a can in the tank and seems better. Good to here it helped you.
