Please help me. When I turn off my headlights the passenger side headlight motor keeps running for several seconds making a grrrr sound and then quits.
The headlights do open and close.
I have done a search of the fourm archives and have not found an answer for the C5's. I don't want to take the car to the dealer for this problem. Is there a gear or bushing that can be replaced to correct the problem and where is the best place to obtain the parts? Thanks for your help.
Sounds [pun intended] like the actuator failure, apparently there is a bulletin regarding it. I've been rescheduled at the dealer for replacement next weekend. The units were quoted me as 240$-ish each so hopefully Mr. Extended Warranty is available to you. The installation is supposed to be a 20-minute process.
The Firebirds and Camaros have exactly the same problem, though it's more common with them. It's a gear in the headlight motor that's been stripped. Some of the F-body sites have a fix, but I'm not sure if it's the same cause for a 'Vette.
