A/C Problem - temps different
I did some searches, and saw a mention of pulling fuse 27, so I pulled it, started the car, the HVAC did nothing. I shut down, put the fuse back in, started back up and no help. I also pulled the battery and tray, to look for vacuum lines, as I saw mention of that. I didn't see any vacuum lines under the battery, or in the pax foot well by the fuse block. I was surprised to see mention of vacuum, I assumed by now they would have moved past it. At any rate, I might just not know what they look like, I am thinking back to the lines from my older cars.
Any thoughts, suggestions or experience?
Thanks
Kevin
You'll have to look in a service manual for low/high side pressures as they vary with ambient conditions. Going by pressures alone isn't the best method to determine the proper charge. When I was recharing my AC after a recent repair, I noticed that the whole last can didn't affect the pressures that much, but it made a huge difference in cooling capacity in the car.
If you want to find the leak yourself I'd add ~1/2 can of R134 w/UV dye and see if that helps the cooling. If it does, then you know you have a leak and now you just need to find it and fix it or the problem will return. (The dye will help you find the leak). You can also check out www.ackits.com. They have a great forum to aid with DIY repairs.
Most leaks occur at fittings, so hopefully it will be easy to repair (o-ring).
Good luck
