Default check engine light - P1416 H C

guys...
i received a check engine light this morning on the way to work...the car is a 1997...i pulled the codes and received the following...
10-PCM P1416 H C
P1571 H
28-TCS NO CODES
38-RTD NO COMM
40-BCM NO CODES
60-IPC B0521 H
80-RADIO NO CODES
99-HVAC NO CODES
A0-LDCM U1064 H
A1-RDCM U1064 H
A6-SCM NO CODES
B0-RFA NO CODES

i believe that the only code that i should be concerned with is the P1416HC code...it refers to the air system bank 2...

i am currently at work, about 45 miles away from home....am i safe to drive the vehicle home to get it in for service...

any ideas as to what the cause of the problem is...how is it fixed...

also, my car was a buy back due to an electrical problem...when i purchased it, i received a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty...the car currently has about 36,000 miles on it and i am still under the warranty (about 1,500 miles to go)...would this be covered...

thanx in advance....

dave

Yes you are fine driving it. This code means that the AIR check valve on the passenger side is probably rusted and not working properly. It requires removing the intake manifold and replacing the valve. I replaced mine and still got the codes not long after....so I wouldn't be too concerned unless you continue getting them.

I just had the dealer replace the "air check valves" and do an injector "cleaning service"; also replaced the fuel filter; I'm still checking into it, but I got screwed on the "air check valve" cause my extended warranty did not pay;
saying they do not cover emissions related stuff. The cost was $300 parts and labor. Plus, I'm smelling something (not oil, coolant, or gas)....hopefully it'll go away.

I agree with what has been said. I too had the same code and the engine light on. I scheduled to have it fixed but the light went out and have had no problems lately. You probably will want to get it fixed when time permits.

Mine was intermittent (happened 5 or 6 times) until the light started staying on more than off; this has been the only disappointing thing with my car so far; Why they put it behind the motor is more than I can figure.
