If you really have a 172 thermostat it'll cause no problem. My concern is that you state you have a "stock 172 thermostat". The stock C5 thermostat opens at 195, not 172. If you have the stock 195 thermostat and lower your fan on/off temps, the fans will run all the time after first warmup of the car. Probably not good for long term life of the fan motors. :chevy

Whoops! I just assumed the 172 was stock from some other threads I've read. I am stock, so I guess it's 195. No need to turn the fans on so soon then, huh?
