Default Paint question...

I need to take a picture but behind the wheels/tires on all four I have white showing through the paint. It appears as though road debris has worn threw the paint just behind all of the wheels in the wheelwell. Does this make sense? The rest of the paint is mint so I'm wondering what is happening. I'll try to add a pic but does anyone know what I'm talking about.

Thanks.

I think we are talking about the same thing. basically looks like the clear coat is pitted or sand blasted. I'm sure if you look close you will see on your rockers also. I think every corvette owner that drivers there vette regularly with out using a clearstatic or 3m product will have noticed this problem.

Even the plastic around my rear brake ducts on my ZO6 appear to be pitted. It is like they stick out to grab stuff.

Ahah boo to that. I never noticed it until recently. But yes you are right. No way to fix it without a complete respray I would imagine?

It just the clearcoat, a wetsand and respray of clear will most likely make it look like new and the color match will be dead on.

Its on the bottom, I just take high gloss black and repaint mine, can't tell unless you have your nose rubbing the paint/

Yup, that is all it is. Back in 1995 I noticed it after puting just 15K on a new Z28 behind all 4 tires. I had some fresh clearcoat blended over those areas and it looked like new again.
