Why the big commotion over the x pipe? Don't all C5's have a cross connection between both exha ust pipes anyway? Is there really a big difference? Thanks
Stock H-pipe is restrictive which is why most swap it. Previous owner of mine put on an SLP H-Pipe. It produces a different sound that is more "muscle car" or "motorboat" as some people call it. Its very gurgly. At idle I've been told it sounds like the car has a light cam lope.
I also noticed it possibly moved the "drone range" up higher in the RPM band. My cruising drone doesn't start until 2300 RPM, which I never hit in 6th while cruising anyway.
Aftermarket H-pipes are a little better for torque where as X-pipe is for HP. Noticeable amounts? Probably not.
